Nursing schools across the country are turning away highly qualified applicants in droves because their institutions have limited capacity and cannot keep up with the increasing demand for nurses and nursing education. There is, however, a silver lining for those looking to study nursing in Ohio, and it comes in the form of our 16-month ABSN program.
Given the success of our ABSN program in Cincinnati — where the inaugural cohort of graduates achieved a first-time NCLEX pass rate of 100% — we’re giving more students the opportunity to accelerate into the nursing profession by opening a second ABSN Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Students who enroll for the new Columbus location must meet the same admission requirements as their Queen City counterparts, which includes having a non-nursing bachelor’s degree and a cumulative GPA of 2.7. The ABSN experience at the two locations will mirror each other in pretty much every regard.
Like our Cincinnati location, the ABSN Learning Center in Columbus has state-of-the-art nursing skills and simulation labs. Featuring advanced hospital equipment, anatomically correct clinical task trainers, and innovative patient simulation technology, these labs replicate the hospital environment so students can hone their clinical skills in a realistic, yet risk-free environment.
Our clinical partnerships with OhioHealth and Nationwide Children's Hospital will afford Columbus students valuable real-world experience in diverse areas of nursing practice, from adult care to pediatric care to community health. These partnerships are on par with the relationships we’ve built within the Greater Cincinnati health care community.
With three start dates a year, we are now enrolling for the inaugural ABSN program cohort in Columbus, with classes starting in August 2019. Take note that we process our nursing school applications on a rolling basis, which gives admitted students the opportunity to secure a spot in their preferred cohort on a first-come, first-served basis.
