The Cincinnati nursing demand is on the rise for BSN-prepared nurses. Living in Cincinnati offers access to live entertainment, great restaurants, a bustling healthcare scene, and major league sporting events. Nursing programs in Cincinnati like the one at Xavier University can help you become a nurse sooner.
If you’re thinking about earning your Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and becoming a nurse in Queen City, Xavier University can help you achieve your dreams and enter the Cincinnati nursing profession on an accelerated timeline.
The Xavier University Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program offers online coursework, hands-on labs, real-world clinical rotations, and a comprehensive curriculum that prepares you to graduate with a BSN in as few as 16 months. We currently have program site locations in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus.
While it has excellent accelerated nursing programs, Cincinnati is also a wonderful place to live and work after you kickstart your nursing career.
Marketability in Ohio
The Cincinnati nursing market is strong, especially for BSN-prepared nurses. Ohio is among the states with the highest number of nursing employers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Ohio employs 24.85 nurses for every 1,000 residents, with 129,270 employed nurses. Ohio is proud to be a top per-capita employer for nurses, meaning it’s the perfect place to begin your nursing journey.
After you graduate from a nursing program and pass the National Council Licensure Examination, you can become a registered nurse (RN) in Ohio. A BSN from Xavier sets you apart, especially as more health-care facilities actively seek nurses with bachelor’s degrees in nursing.
Learn more about what type of nurse you should be in this blog post.
Plus, nurses with a BSN earn at least $30,000 more than nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). Earning your BSN is a great way to secure a high-paying nursing job, and as a bonus, Cincinnati is a fun place to work and live.
Nursing in Cincinnati
When you enroll in the ABSN program at Xavier University, you’re earning a degree from a university with a reputation in the local health-care community for producing confident, skilled, compassionate nurses. Xavier nurses are leaders with the experience to advocate for their patients, handle urgent situations, and serve as educators to guide patients and their families.
This reputation has helped us secure clinical partnerships with many well-respected hospital networks in Greater Cincinnati. These relationships empower our nursing students to learn from some of the best health-care professionals in the area.
Like most nursing schools, we can’t promise placement at a particular facility. However, we can ensure that you are assigned to a reputable clinical setting that fosters your personal and professional growth. After all, each of our health-care alliance partners is known for providing top-notch patient care.
Although employment is never guaranteed, you should put your best foot forward for each accelerated BSN clinical.
