Our Accelerated Nursing Program Is Coming to Cleveland

Given the success of our 16-month ABSN program in Cincinnati and Columbus, we decided it was time to bring this popular accelerated learning path to the Cleveland area.

The expansion not only provides increased access to our quality, Jesuit-based nursing education but also continues our mission of providing health care employers throughout Ohio with a steady stream of practice-ready nurses.

Just like our ABSN program in Cincinnati and Columbus, prospective students must have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 to apply to the Cleveland program. Because no matter the location, every Xavier ABSN student completes the same accredited curriculum.

Comprising 63 credit hours, our ABSN program follows a fast-paced sequence of online and onsite courses taught by supportive instructors. Students learn the fundamentals of nursing online, attend hands-on labs at our ABSN Learning Center, and complete supervised clinical rotations in local facilities.

CLEVELAND ROCKS

Cleveland-based students regularly visit our ABSN Learning Center to complete hands-on learning activities and take proctored exams. Located in Independence, Ohio, the center has state-of-the-art nursing skills and simulation labs that allow students to develop their applied skills and clinical judgment in a realistic, risk-free environment.

Clinical rotations in local health care facilities provide our Cleveland-based ABSN students with real-world nursing experience. These placements introduce students to diverse areas of clinical practice across the health care continuum, from pediatrics to community health.

We are currently accepting applications for our inaugural ABSN program cohort in Cleveland, with classes starting in May 2020. If now is not the right time, all three of our Ohio locations enroll students every January, May, and August.
