Where is the Xavier ABSN program offered and how soon can I start the program?

We have three ABSN program start dates a year at our locations in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus, Ohio.
Because we offer three start dates a year—January, May, and August—at all of our site locations, qualified students can start the program as soon as they’re ready. Our rolling admissions process also means that applicants receive a decision within a few weeks of applying

How can online coursework prepare me to become a practice-ready nurse?

Our Accelerated BSN program is not 100% online. While you complete a significant amount of the ABSN curriculum online, there’s also a lot of experiential learning involved—expect to clock more than 850 hours of clinical practice, which constitutes both lab and practicum time. After graduating from the program, you’ll be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam with confidence and enter the profession as a practice-ready nurse.

Can I work while pursuing my nursing degree?

Our ABSN program is a rigorous, fast-paced education path that requires serious commitment. It could easily be considered a full-time job in and of itself. If you’re in a situation where you must work while in the program, it’s important to have a job that gives you the flexibility you need to attend labs and clinicals.

Is the Xavier Accelerated BSN program accredited?

Yes. We hold our ABSN program to high standards and maintain the guidelines that ensure our program is one of the highest caliber. In fact, the baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and the post-graduate certificate programs at Xavier University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

We offer some of the best clinical placements of any Accelerated BSN program in Ohio. It’s because we have a strong, expansive network of health care partners in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus. So expect to complete supervised clinical practice in a wide variety of settings across the health care continuum.

Our clinical partners include:

While we can’t guarantee placement in a specific health care facility, we’ll place you in a quality clinical setting that promotes personal and professional development.

My admission counselor was great. She sealed the deal for me because I wanted to go to a university with a sense of community and one where I was going to feel supported.
