Xavier University’s ABSN Program
Can’t wait to become a nurse? We can get you started on your career sooner. Our second-degree Accelerated BSN is a 16-month program with enrollment locations in Cleveland and Columbus.

Second-Degree Accelerated BSN Program
Xavier University’s ABSN program blends online coursework with hands-on nursing labs at one of our ABSN Learning Centers and clinical rotations at top healthcare facilities in Ohio, including Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth.
While you do not need a health sciences background to enter our program, you do need a non-nursing bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 to begin the admission process. From there, you must successfully complete four ABSN prerequisites, each with a “C” grade or higher, as a condition of enrollment.
Whether you choose our Cleveland or Columbus location, you’ll complete the same accelerated nursing curriculum taught by highly supportive instructors. After 16 months of rigorous full-time study, you will be ready to sit for the NCLEX, the licensing exam all are required to pass to become a registered nurse (RN).
As a graduate of Xavier’s accelerated BSN program for non-nurses, you’ll have the academic foundation and clinical preparedness required to enter the profession and improve the health interests of individuals, families and communities.

"Xavier faculty wants you to be successful, they want you to be where you want to be in life. They put me in that situation, and I’m forever going to be grateful for that."
- Lauren, ABSN Graduate
